Monique Rissen-Harrisberg
Founder and CEO
Monique Rissen-Harrisberg, has a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCT with majors in English and Drama, and Associate and Licentiate Diplomas in Speech and Drama Teaching from the Trinity College of Music in London. She also holds an Honours Degree in Speech and Drama Directing from UCT.
Monique founded The Voice Clinic at the age of 22 in 1988, identifying a need in the market for the introduction of specialist communication skills training programmes for individuals and groups. Since then she has been at the forefront of creating public awareness of the need to improve and develop speaking skills, and in particular voice management. Monique has trained many top CEO’s, corporate groups , media presenters, professional speakers, government representatives and high profile individuals of international repute.
Monique places a strong emphasis on women’s empowerment, and as a result has developed specialist training programmes for women in business, assisting them in developing the confidence, communication and public speaking skills necessary to achieve peak performance and act as important role models for young women.
Monique has a team of 60 staff and is a success story in her own right. She is a published author, polished communications trainer, and an inspirational leader who continues to enjoy the success of her internationally renowned business. |

Dr. Cyril Harrisberg
Managing Director
Dr. Cyril Harrisberg is the Managing Director of The Voice Clinic, and Founder and CEO of The Dr CJ Stress Clinic. Cyril has a passionate interest in promoting preventative stress management to all sectors of the community, and is currently involved in fostering the growth and development of research, education and treatment of stress on a global basis via medical, para medical and related avenues. He is a member of the International Stress Management Association (ISMA).
A recognized medical professional, Cyril has treated and operated on over 5000 patients in the field of ophthalmology. In 1989 he completed specialization as an Ophthalmic Surgeon with the College of Medicine of South Africa and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in the UK, and held a senior consultant post at Wits University until he entered the private sector in 1990.
During his career he has been a participant in numerous medical forums and has been the author of a number of scientific journal articles in peer reviewed journals such as The British Journal of Physiology as well as local publications. He has appeared in numerous interviews in the print media and radio, commenting on a wide range of topics.
Cyril has a strong interest in the role that Music and Light / Sound Technology have on the brain, and the physiological influences that these media may have as treatment modalities. He was a founding member and chairman of The Stress Foundation, a non-profit organization, established to further the development of the effective treatment, research and prevention of stress and stress related illnesses. |
